The St. Louis Blues for last year's 2024 World Juniors came out to seven players representing five countries: the United States, the host country of Sweden, Finland, Czechia, and neighboring Slovakia. The 7 players who attended the 2024 World Juniors were Jimmy Snuggerud (US), Dalibor Dvorsky (SVK), Juraj Pekarcik (SVK), Jakub Stancl (CZE), Aleksanteri Kaskimaki (FIN), Otto Stenberg (SWE), and Theo Lindstein (SWE).

Pekarcik and Dvorsky could not push the Slovakians over Kaskimaki and the Finns, and they were unfortunately eliminated. Snuggerud and the Americans pressed forward advancing to the semi-finals. Czechia, and Sweden both advanced as well with key goals coming from the Blues prospects of Stenberg and Stancl.

2025 Day 7 Performance

Regarding this year's World Juniors being held in Canada, The Blues have a record-setting 9 prospects being called up to represent their home countries. Returning to the World Juniors one last time were Jakub Stancl (CZE), Dalibor Dvorsky (SVK), Juraj Pekarcik (SVK), Theo Lindstein (SWE), and Otto Stenberg (SWE). Joining them this year were newly drafted players Colin Ralph (US), Adam Jiricek (CZE), Ondrej Kos (CZE), and Adam Jecho (CZE).

The breakdown for day 7 of the event is as follows:

  • J. Pekarcik: 1G 1A 2P 25:29 TOI (Eliminated)

  • D. Dvorsky: 1G 1A 2P 25:26 TOI (Eliminated)

  • C. Ralph: 0G 0A 0P 14:43 TOI

  • T. Lindstein: 0G 0A 0P 19:23 TOI

  • O. Stenberg: 0G 0A 0P 20:36 TOI

  • J. Stancl: 1G 0A 1P 19:48 TOI

  • A. Jiricek: 0G 2A 2P 18:00 TOI

  • O. Kos: 0G 0A 0P 10:34 TOI

  • A. Jecho: 1G 1A 2P 13:16 TOI

The round round-robin preliminaries this year have been a riot to watch and cover, and the quarterfinals did not disappoint. Unfortunately for the Slovakians, history repeated as they faced Finland and were sent home again. Dvorsky and Pekarcik both scored 2 points each and scored the only goals for Slovakia.

Ralph, Linstein, and Stenberg also advanced in their respective games. Although Ralph again didn't post any goals or assists, he was still a +2 on the night and played more minutes than the last game. Stenberg and Lindstein had to face a rising Latvian team but they were able to hold on. Stenberg made a really bad mistake that Latvia capitalized on, but thankfully, it fell just short of a comeback.

The final game of the night was the biggest nail-biter of the tournament. Czechia and Canada faced off again in a rematch of last year's quarterfinals that saw Canada ousted for the first time since 2019. Sadly for the Great White North, Czechia repeated the upset, and 3 out of 4 Blues prospects made huge impacts on the score sheet for Czechia. While Kos was left off the scoresheet, he did make an impact with his board play and keeping pressure on the Canadians. The stars of the night for Czechia were Stancl, Jiricek, and Jecho. Jiricek assists on the goals for Stancl and Jecho, while Jecho completed a beautiful one-time shot in the dying seconds of the 3rd period to give the Czechs the lead once more. Highlights for the Czechia vs. Canada game are a must-watch.
