Comparing Day 1 performances of the World juniors.

2024 Day 1 performance


The St. Louis Blues for last year's 2024 World Juniors came out to seven players representing five countries: the United States, the host country of Sweden, Finland, Czechia, and neighboring Slovakia. The 7 players who attended the 2024 World Juniors were Jimmy Snuggerud (US), Dalibor Dvorsky (SVK), Juraj Pekarcik (SVK), Jakub Stancl (CZE), Aleksanteri Kaskimaki (FIN), Otto Stenberg (SWE), and Theo Lindstein (SWE).


The breakdown for day 1 of the event is as follows:

  • D. Dvorsky: 0G 0A 0P 20:11 TOI

  • A. Kaskimaki: 1G 0A 1P 16:14 TOI

  • J. Snuggerud: 1G 0A 1P 16:59 TOI

In total day 1 was a rousing success for Blues prospects scoring 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points between the first 4 games. The average ice time from all 7 players hovered just around 16:25 TOI with Pekarcik and Stenberg making the most of their time by getting points over others that played longer.


2025 Day 1 Performance


In terms of this year's World Juniors being held in Canada, The Blues have a record setting 9 prospects being called up to represent their home countries. Returning to the World Juniors one last time were Jakub Stancl (CZE), Dalibor Dvorsky (SVK), Juraj Pekarcik (SVK), Theo Lindstein (SWE), and Otto Stenberg (SWE). Joining them this year were newly drafted players Colin Ralph (US), Adam Jiricek (CZE), Ondrej Kos (CZE), and Adam Jecho (CZE).


The breakdown for day 1 of the event is as follows:

  • D. Dvorsky: 1G 0A 1P 22:30 TOI

  • C. Ralph: 0G 0A 0P 10:00 TOI

This year with more players the Blues prospects were able to score 3 goals and 5 assists for 8 points on the night. In terms of ice time, their average skewed to around 15:42 TOI with Kos, Jecho, and Stancl making the most of their TOI at playing under 13 minutes and scoring 4 points altogether (1G 3A).
